February 2023 : The many anecdotes regarding Brando in a chapter of Solange Podell's biography (released in 2016) were initially referring to a "close friendship". A letter, written by Brando in 1949, and sent to Solange, features in the book. Solange always insisted upon the fact that the affair was a 1-year "friendship". Throughout the chapter, I had therefore decided, as I was respectful to her, to always mention the "friendship" though the lines would imply they were romantically involved. The 1949 letter was lately auctioned in February 2023 and was advertised from that moment as a "breakup letter", revealing to the world a romance taking place in New York, just before Brando gained stardom, and that had been kept confidential since the late 40s.
